Smart Ways to Build Your Skilled Workforce

Join us as Kari Krull, Rick Conrad, Sandy Destree and Sheila Schetter introduce us to the high school and technical college programs available to employers in Manitowoc County that can be utilized to build your skilled workforce.  Learn about the school to work programs at the high school level such as Youth Apprenticeship, work experience, and the transitions program and the registered apprenticeship program available through the local technical college.  They will explain how these programs can work seamlessly together to your benefit.  Come learn more about how to build your future skilled workforce by working with the local high schools and technical college.

Kari Krull and Rick Conrad both coordinate the Manitowoc County Youth Apprenticeship Program.  Rick Conrad also coordinates Lincoln High School’s work experience program along with setting up job shadows for students.  Sandy Destree is an Apprenticeship Training Representative for the State Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards   Sheila Schetter is the Associate Dean of Apprenticeship & Manufacturing at Lakeshore Technical College.  All of our speakers understand the current need for a future skilled workforce and see school to work programs as a win-win for both business and education.

While we anticipate having a buffet lunch, a plated meal may be substituted if the Holiday Inn does not have any other buffet luncheons that day.  If you have any special dietary needs, please discuss them with your server on the day of the meeting and they will be happy to accommodate your request. We ask that you arrive promptly to allow adequate serving time prior to the speaker.
